The Flying Scotsman

This digital collage is for
where the theme is Journeys.
It is safe to say my family love old trains,
my OH has a large model train layout in the loft space  and a work bench in the craft room
where he  makes and repairs his models.
UK folk will know about the ''Flying Scotsman'', recently refurbished
after 10 years of work   at  cost of £4.2 million pounds.
So this is my tribute to a  grand old lady of steam.
Old railway posters in the background, a picture of the engine that  appeared in a newspaper.

Thank you for calling to see me today,
your comments are always very much appreciated.

  3. I don't know the flying Scotsman but I am interested in her. I will have to check her out. I have a cousin who was big into trains and he actually became and engineer and drives (do you drive a train?) one for his job. I love it when someone actually gets to follow their dreams into their career. Your page is fantastic- I really love it a lot. Hugs-Erika

  7. This is a wonderful AJJ entry. We in the states have a love of our automobiles and airplanes, possibly because our cities and towns are more spread out and our country is so large. The romance of the train is long gone, especially after our government took over the train system. I'm so glad the train is still alive and enjoyed in GB. It's something I wish I had gotten to ride, especially in my younger (teen) years. But now the tracks are in constant disrepair, I would hate to leave my fate in the hands of a poorly run system. I certainly LOVE your entry, though.

  11. Great collaged layout Yvonne. I saw on the news only last night about the Flying Scotsman and how the journey nearly didn't take place.
